Rock Port, Missouri Chooses Wind Power
Rockport, Missouri has hit the national news as a result of its forward thinking about wind-powered alternative energy. The city of Rock Port creates its own electricity by wind turbine. Only occasionally does the city have to switch to traditional electric power. But when the wind blows, the city’s four turbines, located on farm land supply Rock Port with 100% of its required electrical energy. Eventually, the turbines will generate 16 million kilowatt hours of electricity per year.
